Kim Louise (Stensrud) Sawyer, 55, of Red Wing, died Friday, June 10, 2011 in Hastings. She was born on July 14, 1955 in Red Wing to Delbert W. and Colleen M. (Kleist) Johnson. She attended Red Wing Schools. She then attended Red Wing Vo-Tech and received her LPN license. In 1974 she married Gene Stensrud and they later divorced. In 1989 she married David Sawyer and they later divorced. She worked at the Red Wing Health Center for a number of years and then for a nursing home in Bloomington. In 1993 she retired from nursing due to health reasons. She enjoyed camping, traveling and babysitting her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children; Inga Sparr of Hastings, Jessica Stensrud of Red Wing, Nicholas Stensrud of Mazeppa and Andrew Stensrud of Hager City; 16 grandchildren; her father, Delbert (Bverly Holm) W. Johnson of Red Wing; two sisters, Kit (Tim) Busch of Frontenac and Tammy (Roger) McGee of Red Wing; three brothers, Kelly (Janney) Johnson of Red Wing, Scott Johnson of Red Wing and Delbert C. (Michelle) Johnson of Red Wing; special friend, Scott Kerstetter of Hastings and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, one brother, Lonnie; one grandson, Gene Andrew Stensrud and her grandparents.
Funeral will 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Father Theo Park officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
