Kevin E. Whitebear
Kevin Eugene Whitebear, age 55, of Prairie Island, died Friday at the Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing.
Kevin was born March 13, 1954 in Marshall Town, IA to James and Shirley (Waseskuk) Whitebear. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1972 and then enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharged from the Navy Kevin attended Dunwoody College of Technology to become an electrician. He worked with the Local 343 IBEW and worked for Walsh Electric and at Treasure Island Casino as an electrician. He enjoyed photography; sports, traveling, and family get togethers.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Shirley White of Prairie Island; daughter Amara Duray of Red Wing; three brothers, Don (Patty) Whitebear of Red Wing, Art (Diane) White of Lakeville, and Darwin (Teri) White of Prairie Island; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Prairie Island Community Center. Burial will be at Church of the Messiah Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Prairie Island Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
