Kenneth R. Jeske, Sr.
Kenneth Ralph Jeske Sr., 72, of Red Wing, died October 24, 2007 at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born December 10, 1934 in Red Wing, to Raymond and Irene (Furney) Jeske. He attended Trout Brook School. He worked at Meadowlands in Red Wing, Nybo's Bowling alley setting pins and at Bud's Pure Oil. In 1953 began working at SB Foot Tanning Company. In addition to the Tanning company, where he worked until his retirement in 1997, he also farmed. He married Catherine "Katy" Klopf on October 6, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. He had a country western band for many years and had played in Red Wing and the surrounding areas. He also enjoyed playing guitar, the river and fishing. He was a lifetime member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Red Wing Collector's Society.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kenneth Jr. (Deb) and Gene (Annette) Jeske both of Red Wing; two daughters, Annette (Brad) Johnson of Hager City and Dorinda (Richard) Dahl of Fort Scott, Kansas; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and two step great-grandchildren; one brother, Marlyn (Juleen) Jeske of Fridley, MN; one sister, Judy Dressen of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 2-5 pm Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a vigil service at 5pm.
