Kenneth Kull
Kenneth Clarence Kull, 79, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Fairview Seminary Home. He was born December 24, 1928 in Red Wing, to Clarence and Dorothy (Boeckler) Kull. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1946. He attended St. John's University for a year and then began working at Red Wing Shoe. He married Marion Johnson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing on July 1, 1950. He joined the Army National Guard and served in the Korean War, he received a Purple Heart Award and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953. After the service, he returned to work for the Red Wing Shoe, where he worked for a total of 44 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54 and the Burnson Lillyblad VFW #1218. He enjoyed golfing, the Minnesota Vikings and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Marion of Red Wing; 2 children, Larry (Debbie) Kull of Red Wing and Wendy (William) Amundson of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren and 1great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church.
