Kelly Sager age 55 of Lake City passed away September 5, 2009 at her home.
Kelly was born August 16, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Manford and Joan (Kelly) Wirges. She attended high school in New Jersey. She attended college and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Master's Degree in Engineering. She moved to Waterloo, Iowa where she worked for John Deere as an engineer for 20 years. She married James Sager on July 2, 1988 in New Hartford, Iowa. They moved to Lake City in 1997. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bittersweet Garden Club, and was a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed golf, quilting, tending to her flower garden, and spending time with her family.
Kelly is survived by her husband James of Lake City, and step-daughters Mary (Ron) Puls, Donna (Jim) Peterson, and Carolyn (John) Bereczki, all of Gladbrook, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Fran (Robert) Mannix of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one uncle, John (Lori) Kelly of Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Prayer service will be at 4:00 PM.
