Kaye Gullekson

Kaye Lee Gullekson, 79, of Red Wing, died peacefully at Mayo Clinic Health System – St. Mary’s Campus. She was born on June 23, 1945, in Ada, Minnesota to Glen and Marian (Lee) Gullekson. She graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1963, and then furthered her education at NDSU where she was member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma and graduated from Moorhead State University. In 1966, she was married to Ron Gillund and they later divorced. She worked at Kings Food in Newport, Continental Grain in Red Wing and then for Treasure Island Casino as a bingo caller and cashier. Kaye enjoyed gardening, whether flowers or plants, spending time with her cats, reading, doing crafts, baking, cooking and watching birds. She was an avid sports fan especially the Vikings and Twins. She also looked forward going to the State Fair and fish fry’s. 

Kaye is survived by her special friend, Chuck Bremer; one son, Anthony Gillund and one daughter, Alycia Stringfield; her mother, Marian Gullekson; four grandchildren, Jonah and Samantha Gillund and Jacob and Lindsay Stringfield; several great grandchildren and one brother, Gary (Jennifer) Gullekson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.

Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Beltrami, Minnesota at a later date. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
