Katie Christine Jacobson, 22, of Minneapolis, died Wednesday in Minneapolis. She was born March 30, 1986 in Red Wing to Keith and Lisa (Hutchinson) Jacobson. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 2004, where she played hockey for four years and was a co-captain her senior year. She attended Brown College in Egan and became a certified massage therapist. She worked at Welch Mill during the summers and also worked at the AmericInn and Nichols Inn. She moved to Minneapolis in 2006 where she worked at the Radisson Plaza Hotel as a Concierge. She enjoyed running, playing Frisbee golf, rollerblading, and spending time with friends.
She is survived by her parents, Keith and Lisa of Red Wing; brother, Reid of Red Wing; sister Anna of Portland, OR; paternal grandmother, Beverly Jacobson of Prior Lake; maternal grandfather, Earl Hutchinson of Bemidji; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Jacobson and maternal grandmother, Christine Hutchinson.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Wayne Walther officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross, UMCOR, or Red Wing Girl's Hockey.
