Kathy Lee Newman

Kathy Lee Newman, 59, of Red Wing, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Red Wing Health Center. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 7, 1958 to Dennis and Katie (Petrich) Simanski. Kathy graduated in 1975 from Montgomery High School in California. She married Elmer Newman and they later divorced. Kathy lived in Red Wing and worked for a number of years at the Busy Bee Dry Cleaners. She enjoyed her family, cooking, playing cards, knitting, and watching soap operas.

Kathy is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Olson, Dusty Peterson, Alisa Newman; nine grandchildren, Devontae, Samara, Talus, Avah, Hailey, Rosalie, Tyleah, Logan, Tyler; her mother, Katie Simanski; three siblings, Denise (Stanley) Bargsten, Corinna (Bud) Potvin and Glen (Michelle) Simanski and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, one brother, Tony Simanski and one grandson, Mackale.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City with Howard Stenerson officiating. Lunch will be served at the Lake City VFW Club following the graveside service. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel.
