Kathy Reita Caughell, 55, of Byron, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held at 12 P.M., Friday September 21, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel with Pastor Scott Jorgenson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Kathy Reita Caughell was born January 16, 1952 in Niagara Falls, New York to Charles W. and Doris Marie (Johnson) Caughell. She attended school at Niagara Wheatfield. Kathy was a beautician in Niagara Falls and then moved to Texas with her two children and became the manager at Goodwill. She later moved to Spring Valley in the late 1980's, relocated to Dodge Center and then moved to her current home in Byron where she made many friends. She enjoyed spending time playing cards and watching movies with her two grandchildren, doing crafts, going to church and nature of all kinds. Kathy also loved attending Jaycee events with her son, Klinton and sitting in parks and watching the storms come in. Kimberly and her mother enjoyed searching for four leaf clovers. Kathy put up a big fight and is now at peace with family above.
She is survived by her son, Klinton Finley of Chester, South Dakota; a daughter, Kimberly Finley of Byron; two grandchildren, Nathon and Aubry Finley; three sisters, Sharon (Don) Stancomb of Bradenton, Florida, Lynda (John) McCrae and Bonnie Korb both of Niagara Falls, New York; a brother, Charles (Patty) Caughell II of Niagara Falls, New York and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Arthur Korb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
