Kathryn W. Dahl

Kathryn W. "Kay" Dahl, age 88, of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born on March 23, 1920, in West Albany, Wabasha County, Minnesota, to Charles and Frana (Prescher) Kuhfuss. She was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She was a 1937 graduate of Red Wing Central High School and received her teaching certificate from the Red Wing teacher training program. She taught rural school in Goodhue County for a few years. On January 18, 1941, she married Mason Dahl in Forest City, Iowa. They lived in Red Wing. After his death on September 2, 1970, she worked as a sales clerk for Ferrin Furniture and as a secretary for Viking Real Estate and Mahn Family Funeral Home. She was a member of United Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and United Lutheran Church Women, and the Women's City Bowling League for many years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, volleyball, fishing and going to the casino.

Survivors include four children Norris (Janet) Dahl of Savage, Nancy (Delbert) Johnson of Red Wing, Linda (Royce) Lynner of Red Wing, and Bradley Dahl of Red Wing; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister Margie Stumpf of Red Wing; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband; one brother Charles Kuhfuss; two sisters Jean Klair and Deloris Korsten; half-brother Lloyd Kuhfuss; and half-sister Evelyn Halpaus.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron and Patrick Lynner, Colleen Eiden, Wade Johnson, Wendy Peterson, Abby McCabe, Bradley and Mason Dahl. Visitation will be from 2 � 5 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and one hour prior to the time of services Monday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
