Kathleen Louise Martin

Kathleen L. Martin, 83, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born on November 30, 1927 in Red Wing to Charles and Emma (Gihlstorf) Hauschildt. She attended schools in Red Wing and in 1945 graduated from Red Wing High School. On October 24, 1947 she married Perry W. Martin. They lived in Seattle, Hawaii, New York, Maryland, and Florida over the years. She worked as an executive and agency secretary for 23 years until retiring in 1990. Perry died February 4, 1997. Kathleen later returned to the Red Wing area. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church and National Insurance of Women. She enjoyed music and was an organist in Florida and other areas for 40 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Jay (and his wife, Carolyn) Martin of Jacksonville, FL and Craig Martin of Gainesville, FL; two granddaughters, Traci and Cari; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Travin and Jaidan; one sister, Elaine Thomforde of Red Wing and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; one daughter, Deborah; seven brothers, Ray, Harry, Orlin, Vernon, Lenous, Delbert, and Carl Hauschildt; two sisters, Esther and Delores.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl.
