Kaye Wempner went to join her family in heaven on 2/28/19. She left us at home in her favorite spot surrounded by words of love.Kaye was born 5/4/1928 in Gillford Township to John and Katherine (Klennert) Miller. She grew up in Lake City and made it her lifetime home. She met the love of her life Henry at a dance in Theilman and they were married in 1957. He passed away in 1986. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator at Dwelle Telephone in Lake City and continued there through the multiple phone company changes, retiring as a plant clerk. After her retirement she worked at Coast to Coast Hardware in Lake City and as a lunch lady at Bluffview Elementary.She loved her family, dancing, ice skating, roller-skating, sitting on the deck in the sunshine, watching the birds, and word find puzzles.
Left to carry on her legacy of love and laughter are her daughter Kathy Lofberg, Lake City, Son Lonnie Wempner (Theresa Fait) of Vero Beach, FL, and her forever daughter Connie Wempner, Rochester. Grandchildren Joe Lofberg (Katie Stypulkowski) of Manitou Springs, CO, Katie Wempner and great granddaughter Eloise of Rochester. Sisters Doris Moyer, Lake City, Marge Myer, Wabasha and brother Butch and sister in law Mary Lou Befort of Arlington, TX. Nieces and Nephews: Joe, Mary Kay, Theresa, Tom, Tena, Erwin, John, Steve, Matt, Jenny, Marlene, Marie and Arthur and spouses and all of their children she loved so much. As well as all those whose hearts she touched.
She was met in heaven by her beloved husband Hank, her parents, nephews Mike and Tim, niece Jean and brother in laws Miles and Carl. As well as the souls of all the lives she touched.
Per her wishes, funeral services will be "when the snow is gone!". Services are planned for 5/4/2019 at St Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
