Katherine M. Klingsporn, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, July, 20, 2016, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Katherine was 97.
Born on February 6, 1919, in Milton Township, Dodge County, Katherine was the eldest of five children born to the late Karl and Anna (nee Stussi) Stussy. Katherine grew up on the family farm and attended Pine Island area schools.
In 1932, Katherine began what would become a 70-year career as organist for Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. She was not only an organist, but a pianist, choir director and piano teacher. Katherine loved music, her students and her church.
In 1939, Katherine was united in marriage to Harold Klingsporn at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. They made their home in Pine Island. In addition to her role with the church, Katherine was a dedicated farm wife and mother.
She was a member of the Organist Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, Senior Citizen's Choir and Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, teaching, helping others in the community and spending time with her family.
Katherine is survived by three daughters, Diane (the late Roger) Toogood of Rochester, Rose Ann "Bodie" (the late Robert, Jr.) Klingsporn-Fox of Pine Island and Mary (Dr. David) Bjarnason of Marshfield, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother Fred (Barbara) Stussy of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Karl and Anna; and brothers Rolland (Barbara) Stussy, Maurice (Carolyn) Stussy and Ralph (Virginia) Stussy.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery.
