Kate Block

Kate Inez Block, 41, of Hastings, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings. She was born in Red Wing on July 12, 1980, to Larry and Betty (Anway) Larson. She graduated from the Red Wing High School in 1998 and attended the Minnesota School of Business in the Twin Cities. She worked for IBM in the Twin Cities, American Bottling Company in South St. Paul, and Garelick Manufacturing in St. Paul Park. She also worked in materials handling and forklift operating at Raymond Company and most recently at Ziegler Cat in Bloomington. She was previously married and was blessed with two children. On October 28, 2017, Kate was united in marriage to Michael G. Block in Red Wing. She was blessed with one step-child. They lived in Cottage Grove for four years and recently moved to Hastings. Kate enjoyed crafting, cooking, and baking.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Block; children, Logan Jens Lubich, Hunter Michael Lubich, and Emma Joan Block; parents, Larry and Betty Larson; sisters, Amanda Larsen and Bridgett Stockwell; nephew and niece, Peyton C. and Zoey Ann Haider along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Greg Block, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with a time of remembrance at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the Bluffs Bar & Grill in Hager City.
