With glory to God, we celebrate the life of Karen Anita Meisner on Monday April 15th at 4:00 PM at the Rochester Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1100 37th Street NW, with Pastors Little and Booth officiating. A light supper will follow. The visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Mrs. Meisner, 84, of Rochester, died Monday April 8, 2024 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Karen Anita Larson was born August 22, 1939 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Arthur and Marion (Swanson) Larson. She was a graduate of Henry High School in North Minneapolis, and then attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. On June 25, 1960 she married Wayne Meisner at the Salem Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis. The couple lived in Thief River Falls and then moved to Duluth. They settled in Rochester in 1968.
Karen was a member of the National Ski Patrol at Mount Frontenac. She enjoyed sailing on Lake Pepin aboard the Kristina. She was an amazing entertainer and cook, her pies were highly known. She enjoyed gardening, and maintained a fish pond. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and will be missed by family and endless friends.
Karen is survived by her husband Wayne Meisner of Rochester; daughter Kristin (Tim) Limberg of Rochester; son David (Caroline) Meisner of Spring Creek, Nevada; six grandchildren, Afton (Jacob) Bettencourt, Avree Limberg, Aaron Limberg and his special friend Karissa, Wayne Meisner, Kathryn Meisner, and Zachary Bruno-Essman 'Meisner'; two great-grandchildren Aubree Rose Limberg and Everleigh Limberg; and her sister Lois (Glenn) Mauston. Also surviving are Steven Fossey (Anne), Matthew (Brooke) Fossey, Joanna (Marshall) Green, Patrick Fosse, and the Fossey-Green grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
