The funeral service for Justin L. Riess will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Reverend John Torris Lohre and Kip Groettum officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Gabor, Nick Maki, Vinnie Titus, and Chris Haller. Honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Layman, Brent Sather, and Heather Andrews.
Justin Lee Riess, 19, of Pine Island, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born July 25, 1989 in Rochester to Lonnie Riess and Jacqueline Gabor. He grew up in Pine Island where he attended high school. He recently began working at Subway in Pine Island. He enjoyed fishing, arm wrestling, playing video games with friends, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Lonnie Riess of Pine Island; mother, Jacqueline Gabor of Pine Island; sister, Lacey (Nick) Maki of West Concord; brother, Jacob Gabor of Pine Island; maternal grandfather, Jack (Jenny) Gabor of Lake City; paternal grandmother, Rose (Dave) Enquist of Rochester; maternal great-grandmother Virginia Gabor of Mazeppa; niece Jayden Rayne Maki; and nephew, Ryan Jordan Maki. Preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Kay Gabor and paternal grandfather, Gordon Riess.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
