The memorial service in remembrance of the life of Jurene “Jean” Myran will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday September 30th at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. The Reverend Wayne Schoch will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Myran, 76, of Wanamingo, died Saturday September 26, 2020 at her home in Wanamingo where she had been under hospice care.
Jurene Sharon Johnson was born May 15, 1944 in Wanamingo Township, Goodhue County, the daughter of Carl and Margaret Johnson. Raised in Zumbrota, she was a graduate of Zumbrota High School with the Class of 1962. She married Howard Myran on April 24, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran – Minneola Township. Jean worked in various capacities, including supervisor, during her career at Maple Island, Inc., which spanned 41 years. Recently, she was a home health aide. She was a Past President of Joanes’ Townhouse Association, and she had served on its board of directors. She enjoyed reading, and participated in Bridge Club.
Jean is survived by her husband, Howard Myran of Wanamingo; a daughter, Katherine Myran of Wanamingo; a son, John (Keri) Myran of Inver Grove Heights; four grandsons, Matthew, Zachary, Jacob, and Caleb. Also surviving are two sisters, Avis Swenson and LaVonne (Lyle) Sharpen, both of Zumbrota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Alvera Johnson, Elaine Long, and Marlis Buchholtz.
