June Marie Winberg, 90, of Red Wing, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born June 3, 1916 in Bay City, Wisconsin to William and Josephine (Miller) Marklevits. Her family moved to Red Wing and she graduated from Central High School in 1934. She had worked at the Farmer?s Store selling hardware and at the Red Wing Pottery. On August 18, 1947, she married Milton Winberg at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Red Wing. They lived on a farm in Bay City for a short time and then returned to Red Wing. June loved music and was a talented pianist. As a member of the Church of St. Joseph, she was active in the church choir, the Ladies Guild and had been involved making crafts for the church Bizarres. Milton died in December of 1985. After Milton?s death, June had enjoyed traveling and was able to visit her daughter in Hawaii and had also made several trips to the East Coast. She is survived by 6 children, Mary Jo Pille of Kailua, Hawaii; Paul (Maureen) and Lee, both of Red Wing, Terry (Janet) of Stillwater, Rosanne (Larry) Stumpf and Al (Susan) both of Red Wing; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 brother, Gene (Gail) Marklevits of Laguna Hills, Calif. She was preceeded in death by her husband. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Bridget Christenson, Cristine Winberg, Eric and Justin Stumpf and Tierney, Peter, Jordan and Elizabeth Winberg. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church, Catholic Charities or Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
