June Loraine Reynolds Terwilliger

June 27, 1919 — April 13, 2016

June Loraine Reynolds Terwilliger, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Lake City Care Center in Lake City, MN. She was born on June 27, 1919 to Homer and Grace Reynolds in Florence Township, Goodhue County. She was Baptized December 29, 1920 in Christ Episcopal Church Old Frontenac and Confirmed October 11, 1931 in St. Mark's Episcopal Church Lake City.

She first attended Central Point Grade School. June graduated from Lincoln High School, Lake
City in 1938. She attended Red Wing Teacher Training School graduating in 1939. She taught
rural schools in Mazeppa, District 111 for five years and West Florence, District 28, for 11 years. She then taught Grade one in Red Wing schools tar 28 years. While teaching she attended Winona Stale, graduating with an Associate of Education Degree in 1955 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1960. June retired in 1983 after forty-four years of teaching.

June lived in her family home in Lake City. June married Gilbert Terwilliger of Frontenac on
July 16, 1966. They lived in Lake City. Gilbert died in 1987.

June was very active in her church of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Lake City. She taught
Sunday School for many years, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Altar Guild
and Ladies Guild. For a number of years, she was the Sunday School Superintendent and a Vestry member.

June was an active volunteer with the Goodhue County Historical Society. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Rose Garden Club.

For many years June was active with Eastern Star and held many leadership positions, locally and at the State level. She made many friends throughout Minnesota during her years with the
Eastern Star and traveled to a number of States with her leadership positions.

June maintained and took great pride in her large flower gardens and enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes and exchanging them with family and friends. For many years June's sweet and dill pickles and homemade peanut brittle were sought by family members and were best sellers at the yearly church Christmas bazaar.

Her neat printing ability was put to use for many years making posters, place cards, invitations,
announcements. etc. for many of the organizations she belonged to. She kept busy with
embroidery and needle crafts.

June had a "Golden Touch" with all her talents. She would never say "no" to any task or favor
asked of her from family and originations. Commitment was very important to June.

June is survived by her nieces Audrey (James) Sass, Lake City, Patricia McDonald, St Paul,
Sandra DeMarias, White Bear Lake, nephew Dean Wiebusch, Lake City, stepson, Peter (Joanne)Terwilliger, St Paul, stepdaughter Peg Terwilliger, San Bernardino, CA, stepgrandson, Eric Terwilliger. Also surviving are six great-nieces, five great-nephews, eight great-great-nieces, 12 great-great-nephews and seven great-great-great-nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, her parents, Homer and Grace Reynolds,
sisters Myrtle Wise, Berneta Wiebusch and Eleanor Reynolds, niece Deanne Wiebusch Elliot.
and stepson James Terwilliger.

A funeral service will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Lake City with Father Michael Schulenberg officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City is handling funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St Mark's Episcopal Church, MCHS Care Center
Activities Department in Lake City or Donor's choice.
