June Cecelia Lampman
June 3, 1931 — December 19, 2012
June Cecelia Lampman, age 81 of Red Wing died Wednesday, December 19th at the Red Wing Seminary Home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
June was born on June 3rd, 1931 in Red Wing to Jacob and Gertrude (Kaiser) Wiebusch. She grew up in the Red Wing area and attended Red Wing Central High School.
On November 25th, 1948 June married Leon Lampman. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
During June's work life she was employed at Red Wing Shoe Company, Goodhue County Extension Service, Montgomery Ward, State Farm Insurance and Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Her years at State Farm were the best years of her work career.
June enjoyed bowling for Clark's Super Station and held the record along with her team for most games won. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society from 1981 to 1992 helping women deal with breast cancer. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Wing and a past president of the Diamond Bluff School PTA. She loved to be with people and devoted her life to her family. She was a very giving person, and incredible wife, mother and grandmother; and in the words of her husband Leon "an outstanding woman".
June is survived by her husband Leon of Red Wing; children, Renee (Ken) Voorhees of Falmouth, Massachusetts; Slater (Edith) Lampman of Hudson, Wisconsin; Lani (Bruce) Engelstad of Lake City; and Kurt (Angie) Lampman of Red Wing. She is also survived by her sister Mary (Walter) Johnson of LaCrescent; and sister Dorothy from the state of Washington plus 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Marten and one granddaughter, Shawna Lampman.
The family of June Lampman thanks Red Wing Hospice for the excellent care during the final months of June's life. Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Hospice.
Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson - Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with Reverend Hugh Stephenson officiating. Visitation will follow the service and continue on until 7p.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
