Julie-Ann Schneider

Julie-Ann Schneider, 66, of Red Wing, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Wing after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on April 16, 1947 in Rochester, Minnesota to Palmer and Wanda (Baugh) Stensrud. She graduated in 1965 from Pine Island High School. She worked several jobs before moving to Red Wing in 1970. She married Jochen Schneider on January 25, 1971. She worked at Hardees with her mom for three years before working at Fashion Crossroads until 1993. She then was a stay at home Grandma. She enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family recalls how she loved to spend her free time on the river, camping, being outdoors and growing her flowers in her garden.

Survivors include her husband, Jochen; two children, Forrest (Tiffany) Schneider of Spring Valley, Wisconsin and Lucy (Jeff) Boxrud of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Remington and Colton Schneider and Emily, Natalie and Abby Boxrud; her siblings, Garwin (Sue) Stensrud, Doreen Stensrud, Christine (Rollie) Pomeroy, Taffy (Rick) Conrad, Billy Hurlbut, Jody (Becky) Hurlbut and Kelly (Michelle) Hurlbut. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda Radcliffe; one brother, Gene Stensrud and one grandson, Nathan Boxrud.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with The Rev. Dr. David Reiter officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
