ORONOCO Judy Brown, 68, of Oronoco, died Monday (Aug. 2, 2010) at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Judy Kay King was born April 28, 1942, on the family farm in Dodge County, to Norman and Violet (Kohn) King. She moved to Oronoco at age two and lived in the same home all her life. She attended Oronoco Elementary School and Rochester High School. She married Donald Brown on July 14, 1957 at the Presbyterian Church in Oronoco. She was a long time homemaker and worked for Waters Connelly and Telex Companies. Her most rewarding work was as a teacher's aide with the Rochester Public School System working with developmentally disabled students, and at Hiawatha Homes. Judy was a member of Oronoco Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golf, reading, going to the Casino, and family gatherings.
Survivors include her husband Don, of Oronoco; her daughters, Kyle (Duane) Erickson, of Rochester; Lael (Lenny) Taylor, of Dover; and Hope Holtegaard, of Rochester; her son Mark (Bonnie), of Dodge Center; her sister, Sherry (Elton) Arneson, Jr., of Rochester; fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Her parents, her daughter, Jill, and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Private family services will be held at the Oronoco Cemetery at a later date.
