Judith Olga Whipple, 74, of Goodhue, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born February 9, 1943 in St. Paul to Marshall and Jeanette (Durose) Peterson. She attended Cannon Falls High School. On January 13, 1962, she married Duane Whipple and the couple made their home in Goodhue. She worked at various jobs in and around Red Wing, including as a supervisor at Treasure Island Casino. It was a fitting job for Judy because she enjoyed gambling and playing cards. Judy loved her family and knew how to keep her kids and grandkids in line.
She is survived by her husband, Duane of Goodhue; daughter, Peggy (Al) Speetzen of Clyde, Texas; sons, Wade (Christy) of Prescott, Wis., Guy (Denise) of Mazeppa and Tony of Goodhue; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and her baby daughter, Shoni.
A celebration of Judy's life will be from 4-7 p.m. May 12, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
