Joyce Ann Ryan, 85, of Goodhue, died of natural causes Saturday, March 10th, 2018. Joyce was born to Thelma (Linder) and Patrick Grant on August 3rd, 1932 in El Paso, WI. She married Lloyd Ryan in October of 1950. In 1951 she began the greatest journey of her life, motherhood. Joyce always found great pride and pleasure in her children and grandchildren; recalling stories and memories about family always brought a quick smile to her face.
Joyce was a truly generous soul. Whether filling your belly with her famous Mac N' Cheese, being a friendly ear when needing a confidant, or surrounding you with a warm hug, she was always there for you.
In addition to raising her children, Joyce worked as a home health aide and recalled the work fondly. She was also an avid quilter, clever painter, enjoyed ceramics, gardening and truly loved to read. Joyce was a member of the Goodhue County Extension Homemakers and St. Columbkill Catholic Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband; children: Steve (Nancy), Pete (Bev), Kenny, Marie (Larry Veek), Bob, Randy, Charlie, Liz O'Neill, and Dana (Terri); 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; and four siblings: Patsy, Dan, Tom, and Diane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children: Susan, Scott, Neil, and son-in-law Tim O'Neill; grandchild, Corey Stephen; great grandchild, Katherine Rose; and siblings: Johnny, Elaine, Dick, Madelyn, and Dora.
. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15 at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Belle Creek. The family is hosting a visitation on Wednesday, March 14 from 5-7 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
