Joyce Marie Komisar

Joyce Marie Komisar, 79, of Red Wing died January 24, 2011, at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born on February 28, 1931, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Timmerberg) Marklevits. She grew up and attended school in the Esdaile area. She was united in marriage to Wallace "Spooks" Swanson August 11, 1951 at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. He died September 25, 1961. She married Victor Komisar on June 6, 1964 at Svea Lutheran Church in Hager City. Victor died February 11, 1991. She worked at Bev's CafÃ�'© for 20 years and was also employed at the Seminary Home for several years.

She is survived by her children; Roger (Donna) Swanson of Carrington, ND, Wanda Swanson of Hastings, Vicky (Kevin) Hoffman of Red Wing; grandchildren, Jamey (Bobbie) Swanson, Kristi Eladawe, Kelvin Hoffman, Alicia Hoffman, and Rick (Tanya) Pichler; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace Swanson and Victor Komisar; parents; siblings, Adeline Borst and Henry Marklevits.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn with Reverend Amy Kosari officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday January 27, 2011 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
