Josephine A. Mickow age 78 of Lake City passed away October 15, 2009 at her daughter's home in Blooming Prairie, MN.
Josephine was born February 20, 1931 in Lake City to Joseph & Josephine (Ruether) Schlundt. When she was ten her family moved to St. Paul, MN. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in St. Paul, MN. Josephine married William J. Mickow March 9, 1957 in St. Paul. They made their home in Lake City after they were married. Josephine was a homemaker and caregiver for many neighbors and family members. She was an avid painter and gardener, and also needle work and sewing. Her artwork was featured in an Alzheimer's documentary on HBO. William passed away in 1996. In 2005 she moved to Blooming Prairie to live with her daughter.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jo (Wes) Adams of Lake City, Ann Mickow of Blooming Prairie, Marie (Adam) Weichel of Zumbro Falls; one son, Charley Mickow of Lake City, MN; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Carol) Schlundt of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Fritz, a brother Joe Morgan and a sister Mary Anne Hultquist.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 20th at 1:00 PM at The Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Friends may call one hour before the services at the funeral home. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
