Joseph Harold Wedrickas, 65, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 6, 2021. He was born in Red Wing on July 10, 1955, to Joseph J. and Betty (Plumley) Wedrickas. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1973. He was united in marriage in Lake City on June 13, 1981 to Susan Lichtblau. Joe worked at Meyer Industry for 44 years retiring in 2017. He was a member of the Red Men Club. He loved fishing and hunting. Joe, Sue, and Josh enjoyed camping at D.N. Campground in Balsam Lake, WI, where they had their weekend home for 24 years. Joe loved to exchange stories with his many friends from Red Wing and the D.N.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue; son, Josh Wedrickas of Red Wing; half sister, Tracey Lee of Phenix City, AL; mother-in-law, Norma Bulver of Wabasha, MN; step-mother-in-law, Barb Lichtblau; sisters-in-law, Denise (Russell) Braatz of Lake City, MN and Shari (Cliff) Vars of Austin, TX; nieces and nephews, Kia, Kayla, and Kevin Jr. Legette of Phenix City, AL, Jason (Tara) Stein of Mazeppa, MN, and Ella and Jack Vars of Austin, TX; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Dennis Lichtblau; and niece, Jolene Stein.
A private memorial service will be at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. The service will be livestreamed at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, on the Mahn Family Funeral Home’s Facebook page. A public walk-through visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Masks and social distancing are required.
