Joseph G. Voegele

Joseph G. Voegele, 69, of Wanamingo, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born on September 2, 1943, in Faribault, to Joseph A. and Marie (VanDelst) Voegele. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault and attended some college at the Technical College in Red Wing. Following high school he joined the National Guard and Reserves. Joe worked at Nutting Truck and Caster Company in Faribault, Mustang Manufacturing in Owatonna, and DS Manufacturing in Pine Island as a steel fabricator. On September 3, 1966, he married Susanne Suess at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. They lived in Faribault, Mazeppa, Kenyon, and they most recently made their home in Wanamingo. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, traveling, and spending time with family especially his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife Sue of 46 years; sons, Mark (Tammara) Voegele of Kenyon, Tom ( Trudy) Voegele of Zumbrota, Michael Voegele of Burnsville; daughters, Lisa (Jamie) Kleis of Ankeny, IA, Sara (Aaron) Quam of Kenyon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa (Dale) Kelm of Faribault; nephew and nieces.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandson, Harley Rippentrop; and parents.

Private family service will be at a later time. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota. Memorials are preferred to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
