Joseph Grant Rivera

Joseph Grant Rivera, 62 of Red Wing, formerly of St. Paul, passed away suddenly on June 10, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. Joseph was born January 15, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of Phillip and Rose (Dworshak) Rivera. On July 29, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Lucy Soto. He was a long time resident of St. Paul, where he made his living as a machinist for 3M and later as a barber. He was also a proud Vietnam Veteran.

Joseph was the loving husband of Lucy, and father of Phillip (Christine) Rivera and Athena (Jason) Reed. He was a proud grandfather of Miranda, Andrew, Skyla, Giovonna and Grant. He is also survived by his two sisters; and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clark.

Mass of Resurrection will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Church of St. Joseph, with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
