OBITUARY: Joseph O'Gorman, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph A. O'Gorman, Jr. will be 10:30 AM on Friday, February 6, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 451 5th Street SW, Pine Island with Reverend Timothy Dolan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Pius V Catholic Cemetery in Cannon Falls. Casketbearers will be Michael O'Gorman, Jr., John Willette, Tony Willette, Nicholas Evanson, Aaron O'Gorman and Joe O'Gorman.

Joe, age 96, of Pine Island died Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born Joseph Aloysius O'Gorman, Jr. on August 5, 1912 in
Belle Creek, Minnesota to Joseph and Elizabeth (Farrell) O'Gorman, Sr. on the family farm. He attended country school. He left the farm and moved to Pine Island. Joe married Angela Marie Hilger He was employed by NSP as a District Representative and retired after 35 years. He owned a photography business and an apartment house in Pine Island. Joe was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Professional Photographers of America, was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was a volunteer fireman in Pine Island. He enjoyed photography, fishing and gardening.

Joe is survived by one son, Michael (Jacquelyn) O'Gorman of Bemidji; three grandchildren: Jodie O'Gorman of Mason, MI, Jill (John) Willette of Wells, and Michael (Karla) O'Gorman of St. Peter; eight great grandchildren: Nicholas and Anna Evanson, Emma and Tony Willette, Aaron, Alex, Ashton and Aricka O'Gorman; one brother, Robert (Laurie) O'Gorman of Cannon Falls; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; his wife, Angela; and two sisters: Theresa and Mary.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM with a Rosary scheduled for 7PM on Thursday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home � Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
