John Edward Wimmer

John Edward Wimmer, age 74, of Lake City passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Lake City Care Center. He was born on March 8, 1940 in Lake City to Edward and Hazel (Cordes) Wimmer. He attended local schools and then went on to farm in Florence Township for over 50 years. John was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Florence Township. He served on the church council for six years.
John is survived by his brother, Lee Wimmer; nephew Troy Wimmer; niece, Theresa Wimmer; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wimmer, all of Lake City; and many cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Wimmer; and aunt, Ellie Plote.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Florence with Pastor Stephen Kurtzahn officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
