John Erickson passed away on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. He was 81 years old.

John was born and attended high school in Minneapolis. While in high school, he was involved in gymnastics and excelled at the pommel horse.  After high school, he served 4 years in the United States Navy. When he returned from the Navy, he attended a technical school and became an electronic technician. He married Karen and had 3 children.  They spent their honeymoon in the Boundary Waters and it rained the entire time.  This was their first and last camping trip.   John was employed for 30 years in the computer field and then worked at a bank for 10 years.  While he was working, he had his own business, fixing electronic organs.

John's priority was his family.  John was supportive of his kids playing sports and finding their passions in life.  He enjoyed taking his family to Shore Crest Resort and taking his children fishing.  On one of the fishing trips, he caught a rock and kept the rock on his dresser for many years.  Years later, John and Karen enjoyed spending time with their family at the lake.

In his free time, John was an avid golfer.  He kept trying to perfect his golf game to become the next Phil Mickelson or Jack Nicklaus.  Also, he enjoyed watching high school hockey, amateur and professional hockey.  On the weekends, John and Karen enjoyed dancing..  He loved to socialize and talk to people.  Lastly, he enjoyed playing cards.  John could sit and play Buck, Solitaire or Cribbage for hours.

John is survived by his wife of 56 years, his 3 children, 5 grandchildren and his cousin, Richard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sisters and his in-laws.
