John Patrick Messer

John Patrick Messer, 53, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 17, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 19, 1964, in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. His adopted parents were Maurice and Betty Lou (Van Hovel) Messer. He attended schools in Red Wing. He has lived in the Red Wing area working various jobs, most recently at Walmart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in northern Minnesota and in South Dakota.
John is survived by his father, Maurice Messer of Red Wing; one brother, Mike (Susan) Messer of Two Harbors along with two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty.
