John "Russ" Lynch

John "Russ" Lynch, 86, of Lake City, peacefully passed away May 28, 2013 at the Lake City Care Center. He was born January 2, 1927 in St. Paul Minnesota to Thomas and Mable Lynch. He attended Mechanic Arts school in St. Paul, MN graduating in 1945. John worked for Cities Service Oil and later Gulf Oil Company as a Field Operations Supervisor and Plant Manager for the St. Paul Terminal.
He married Dorothy Monica Huspek on April 24, 1954 in St. Paul. They moved to Rochester and later to Fargo, where He worked at Gulf Oil. Later they moved to Stillwater, where he worked at Griggs Oil Company and Northwest Service Station Equipment Company. After 32 years in Stillwater they moved to Cannon Falls for several years and finally to Lake City in 2006. He was a member of St Michael's Catholic in Stillwater and St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. He enjoyed North Star Hockey Games, stock car races with his sons, road trips with his wife after retirement, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren
John is survived by two sons, William R. (Kelly Conrad) Lynch of Hudson, WI and Robert (Michelle) Lynch of Lake City; three grandchildren, Kevin (Paula) of Rochester, Scott (Heather) of Minneapolis and Patrick (Lila Holst) of Lake City and three great grandchildren, Gavin, Kirby and Liam.
John was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents and siblings, Thomas Jr. and Bernard.
A Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lake City, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
