John Victor Johnson Jr. known as “Johnny” by loved ones, passed away at the age of 72. He was born November 14, 1950 in Waukegan, IL to John & Harriette (Chattmon) Johnson Sr. He was raised in Zion, IL. John’s hobby list was extensive, including things such as flying airplanes or drones, working on cars, watching old westerns and Kung Fu movies, traveling, horses, whistling, listening to Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson and any Soul/R&B songs from the 1960s, chatting with friends about the day’s headlining news topics, making new friends everywhere he went, and connecting with his grandchildren. His job history was just as intriguing, with not only having worked in the nuclear energy field for decades, but also owning his own trucking business, working in construction, and spending a bit of time as a police officer. He is survived by his dear friend, Cheryl Torbenson; four children, Erica E.(Johnson) Titus-Davis, Amanda Johnson-White, Rachel Johnson, and David Johnson in addition to 12 grandchildren, 2.5 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, and many dear friends and “adopted” (in heart) children. He is preceded in death by John V. Johnson III (son), and John & Harriette (Chattmon) Johnson Sr. (parents)
