John Lewis Gamm age 80 of Rochester died Saturday April 22, 2006 in Rochester. John was born June 16, 1925 in Lake City, MN to John & Bertha (Hansen) Gamm. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1943. He then joined the Marines in 1943 and served during WW II. John was stationed in the Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1946. John married Marjorie Schroer September 7, 1946. They lived in Red Wing for several years where he worked for Yellow Cab & Bus. The family moved to the Bear Valley area in 1951 where they farmed until 1966. In 1966 they moved to Rochester where John worked for MINDOT until retiring in 1986. John was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rochester, Rochester American Legion Post #92 & the Marine Corp League. He enjoyed traveling. John is survived by his wife; one son J. Michael (Heidi) Gamm of Isle, MN. John was preceded in death by parents and one daughter Wendy. Private family grave side service will be held Tuesday morning at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rochester at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tom Hanson officiating. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City.
