John Scott Forsberg

John Scott Forsberg, age 65, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home. He was born October 22, 1952, in Heron Lake, MN, to Archie and Muriel (Nelson) Forsberg. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1971 and then attended the University of Waseca for a 2 year program. On June 28, 1975 he married Joanne McGuire in Gaylord, MN. They lived in Mankato and several other places prior to moving to Red Wing in 1989. He worked at ADM until he retired due to disability. You could find John spending his day reading his Bible with his K9 companion, Daisy, munching on a handful of M & M's and singing-- often making up the lyrics to his own songs. He was an avid MN Twins fan and he was always there to support his children. John's faith daily sustained him along with his family, whom he would have done anything for. John especially loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Forsberg of Red Wing; three children, Shawn (Elizabeth) Forsberg of Richfield, Shannon (Bryan) Kern of Red Wing, Scott (Heidi) Forsberg of Burnsville; five grandchildren, Peyton, Moira, Zion, Muriel, Maddox; siblings, Thomas (Dee) Forsberg of Indianapolis, Anne (Michael) Hayes of Lake Stevens, WA, Eve (Billy) Hustace of San Leandro, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Tom McGuire and friend & cousin, Doug McGuire.

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
