John Gregory Chitty

John Gregory Chitty, 48 of Welch, died suddenly Friday, August 1, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was born October 21, 1965 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Terry and Joyce (Popelka) Chitty. He attended school in Toledo, Iowa, and Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing High School in 1984. He attended Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove. On August 25, 1990, he married his high school sweetheart, Shannon Bremer. He made his living working for Service Master at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, then at the Virginia School District in Virginia, MN, and lastly, he worked as a property manager for Ramsey County until his death. He attended the Church of St. Joseph. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, cooking unique foods, the outdoors, doing house projects, and most of all, spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Shannon; three children, Kelley, Ryan, and Logan Chitty at home; mother, Joyce Chitty (Tom Zibble) of Red Wing; one brother, Jeff (Sonya) Chitty of Clarion, IA; one sister, Lisa (Kurt) Niederloh of Hastings; mother-in-law, Lorraine Bremer of Red Wing; brother-in-law, Brad (Jen) Bremer of St. Paul; sister-in-law, Shawn (Tommy) McIntyre of Manalopan, NJ; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Connor; father, Terry; sister, Laura Goranson; maternal and paternal grandparents; and father- in-law, Richard Bremer.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Church of St. Joseph, with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the family.
