Joel S. Schultz

Joel Steven Schultz, age 69 of Red Wing passed away January 27, 2025. Born on January 13, 1956, in Fountain City, WI, to Donald C. and Sylvia (Necas) Schultz. He went to high school in Fountain City before becoming a proud member of the United States Marines. After serving his country he met Cheryl Gieffles, his future wife in Suisun City, CA, where the two were married in 1987. The couple made Red Wing, MN, their home in 1989. For over 25 years, Joel dedicated himself to his maintenance work at Red Wing Shoe Company, until retiring in 2017.

Joel was truly the life of the party. Whether he was shooting pool, playing cards, throwing horseshoes, or enjoying a cold beer with his buddies, he brought joy and energy wherever he went. His zest for life and love for his friends and family were contagious.

Joel is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schultz of Red Wing; son, Ryker Schultz; daughter, Kindra Schultz; two grandchildren, Krystian Schultz and Alayna Monnette; brother John (Donna) Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald C. and Sylvia and brother Donald E. Schultz.

Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery military honors will be 9 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025. Please gather at Assembly area #2 no later than 8:45 a.m.
