Joanne Moyer

Joanne E. Moyer age 74 of Lake City passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.

Joanne was born August 13, 1934, in Lake City to Alfred & Evelyn (Klindworth) Holst. Joanne graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She married Herbert A. Moyer March 22, 1955, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. They farmed in Mount Pleasant Township until they retired in 1993 and moved to Lake City. Joanne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the church Ladies Aid. She also served as President of the St. John's Branch of Thrivent. She was a active volunteer at the church and the Lake City Nursing Home she was also a member of the Rose Garden Club. Herbert passed away August 22, 1998.

Joanne is survived by three sons, Eugene (Cheryl) Moyer of Lake City, Jerald (Kathleen) Moyer of Lake City, Kenneth (Vicki) Moyer of Zumbro Falls; a daughter, Debra (James) Wallerich of Lake City; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Delmar (Nancy) Holst of Lake City, Richard (Sharon) Holst of Red Wing. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 26, 2009, at 11:00 A.M at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the Mahn Family funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
