Joanne Marie Harris

Joanne Marie Harris, 87, of Red Wing, died Saturday, May 30, 2020, surrounded by her family, at her home at Deer Crest. She was born on March 15, 1933, in Red Wing to Joseph and Clara (Myher) Oien. At the age of 2 she moved with her family to Eau Claire. She graduated from Central High School in Eau Claire in 1951. On May 23, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald Harris and together they raised two beautiful children, Michael and Vicki. They lived in Eau Claire until 1960 when they moved to Red Wing. Donald died on December 4, 2016. She was a member of United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home, bowling and meeting with friends for coffee. She was a very humble and loving person and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Joanne is survived by her two children, Michael (Dodie) Harris and Vicki (Jim) Kirk all of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Rebecca (Ryan) Perdue of Maple Grove, Calli (Nick) Sparby of Red Wing, Ben (Katie) Kirk of Brooklyn Park, Justin Kirk of Red Wing, Kristianna Harris of Red Wing and Franz Harris of Red Wing; seven great grandchildren, Marek, Charlee, Barrett, Keira, Blake, James and Jack and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin and one grandson, Jonathan Harris.
