Joan Alice Revoir

Joan Alice Revoir, 86 of Red Wing, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester following a heart attack and is now in her heavenly home. Joan was born in 1934 to Arthur and Alice Nelson of Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing High School in 1952. In 1954 she married Philip Revoir and they were married for 62 years until his death in 2016. Together they raised three daughters and owned and operated Revoir Photography, where Joan was the bookkeeper and hand-colored photos in the early years. Joan also worked several other jobs including the City of Red Wing, Northern States Power, Flower Valley Apple Market and Munson Printing. Joan was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing, where she served on the Women's Guild and spent time visiting shut ins. She loved ballroom dancing with Phil, and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, time with her coffee group and entertaining friends at her home. Most recently she enjoyed going on outings with Lola and her friends from the Downtown Plaza. Her greatest joys have always been her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joan is survived by three daughters: Kay (Dave) Miller of Hastings, MN, Lori (Steve) Thoms of Hager City, WI, and Amy (Jay) Van Loon of Red Wing, MN; eight grandchildren: Tony (Cali) Miller of Hastings, MN, Brian (Michelle) Miller of Louisville, KY, Aaron (Carin) Thoms of Roberts, WI, Andy (Amy) Thoms of Ellsworth, WI, Matt (Emily) Thoms of Red Wing, MN, Brette (Mark) Stockhowe of Lakeville, MN, Calla Van Loon (fiancé Brent Schultz) of St. Louis Park, MN and Trent Van Loon of Fridley, MN; eight great-grandchildren: Eli, Otto and Oak Miller, Abby Thoms, Patrick, Charlie and Etta Thoms, Tatum Stockhowe and baby boy Stockhowe - due in January; two brothers: Don (Marion) Nelson of Red Wing, MN and Ken (Dorothy) Nelson of La Crosse, WI and brother-in-law Ken (Donna) Revior of Lakeland, MN along with many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at the St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks are required along with social distancing. Memorials are preferred to the St. John's Lutheran Church or the Kiwanis Flower Basket Fund. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
