Joan Marie Jablonski, 87, of Red Wing, died on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the St. Crispin Living Community. She was born in Red Wing on May 14, 1933 to Raymond and Charlotte (Russell) Marek. She attended schools in Red Wing and was a telephone operator in St. Paul in her younger years. Joan was united in marriage to Bernard Jablonski on October 15, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. The couple had two children, Bradley and Gary, and were married for 61 years. Bernard died on February 21, 2017. She enjoyed music and loved to play the piano and the harmonica. She also enjoyed reading, writing letters. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and her faith was an important part of her life. Joan was very dedicated to her family and liked spending time with them.
She is survived by her son, Gary; one granddaughter, Wittney Jablonski (Micah Christiansen); three great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Thorson, and Elias Jablonski; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; son, Bradley; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Masks are encouraged for both events. Burial will be at Trenton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
