Joan E. Chapman

Joan E. Chapman, 64, of Zumbrota, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born on July 12, 1947, the daughter of John and Esther (Flanten) Suiter. Joan graduated from Central High School in St. Paul. On September 24, 1966 she married Roger Chapman and together they started a family. They later divorced. Joan was a stay at home mom for many years. In 1986 she met Steve Conrad, her boyfriend and companion for close to thirty years. They moved to Zumbrota shortly after meeting and have lived in the area ever since. She enjoyed going to Treasure Island, playing bingo, camping, fishing, and watching movies.

Joan is survived by her children Bonita "Cricket" Chapman of North St. Paul, Tina (Abdoulie) Gassama of Brooklyn Park, and Jon (Robin Heins) Chapman of Red Wing; grandchildren, Cassandra Dufour, Zachary Buzas, Eric Baanrud, Chasity Schultz, Sarah Schultz, Luke Schultz, and Chase Rosenquist; great-grandsons, Justin Pritchard and Jayvion Pritchard; sister, June Trapp of South St. Paul; boyfriend, Steve Conrad of Zumbrota; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judith Taylor.

Funeral will be 10:30 AM Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with Reverend Paul Reppe officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
