Joan Bette Anding, 65, of Zumbro Falls, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at her home. She was born August 29, 1950, in Lake City, Minnesota to Donas and Lorraine (Muller) Bright and grew up in Millville, Minnesota. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and attended beauty school in Rochester. On July 19, 1969, she was united in marriage to Moritz "Butch" Anding. After he was discharged from the US Air Force, they made their home in Zumbro Falls. For many years she owned and operated Joan's Beauty Salon and later worked for Wild Wings and Heat & Glo, where she retired from in 2005. She was a member of the Zumbro Falls VFW #1802 Auxiliary. Joan enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, painting, cooking, making wedding cakes and she loved being outside and in nature.
She is survived by her son, Rome (Melissa) Anding of Rural Lake City; daughter, Rochelle (Jim) Clarahan of Robins, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Nathan Keithley of Miami, Fla., and Anthony and Dacia Anding both of Rural Lake City; great-grandchild, Julian Keithley of Miami; 2 siblings, June (LaVerne) Hofschulte of Potsdam and Jerry (LeAnn) Bright of Lakeville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch in 2003 and her parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson- Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Prairie Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service.
