ROCHESTER ? A memorial service for Jill Ackman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the People of Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Drier officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery. Mrs. Ackman, 47, of Rochester, a longtime area Daycare Provider, died Wednesday, (July 12, 2006) at Seasons Hospice after a lengthy illness with Cancer. Jill Kari Brown was born Dec. 17, 1958 in Rochester. She grew up in Oronoco and attended Rochester schools graduating from John Marshall High School in 1977. She then attended Rochester Community College for two years. On July 15, 1978 she married Larry Ackman in Oronoco. The couple lived in Oronoco where she did Day Care out of her home. They moved to Rochester in Dec. of 1980 where she continued as a Day Care Provider. Her husband is employed at IBM. She is a member of People of Hope. She enjoyed Horseback Riding, Quilting, and Camping. Survivors include her husband; her parents Donald and Judy Brown of Oronoco; her paternal grandmother Esther Luft of West Concord, MN; sons Korey (Jeanette) of St. Charles, MN; Robbie (Jamie), Terry (Jenni), and Nathan all of Rochester; 4 grandchildren; sisters Kyle (Duane) Erickson, and Hope Holtegaard both of Rochester, and Lael (Lenny) Goetz of St. Charles; and her brother Mark (Bonnie) Brown of Mantorville, MN. Her paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents preceded her in death. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel and an hour before the service Saturday at the Church. Memorials are suggested to the family.
