Jessie Kutina age 80 of Lake City passed away August 11, 2013 at the Lake City Care Center.
Jessie was born July 30, 1933 in Saratoga, MN to Frank & Julia (Stedman) Polzin. She grew up in the Dover area. She attended Winona State College. On April 26, 1956 she married Francis "Bud" Kutina, in Rochester. She worked at Jensen Reality. They moved to Lake City, MN in 1969. She worked at McCahill School, the Harbor House, Lake City Hospital and the Nursing Home as a cook, and at Treats and Treasures. She is a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Lake City VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting for others and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Mickelson of Lake City, two sons, Douglas Kutina of Lake City, David (Janice) Kutina of Lake City; grandchildren Megan (Andrew) Ahrens, Cory (Debbie) Kutina, Amanda (Matt) Kuth, Michael Kutina; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Etta Mae Dirks of Lake City, Arvilla (Floyd) Nardinger of Lake City; a brother, Vernon (Ruth) Polzin of Wabasha, MN; brother-in-law, Robert Latina; sister-in-law, Annette Polzin-Urban. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis "Bud" Kutina, an infant daughter Sheila Kutina, and a brother Luther Polzin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
