Jerome "Butch" Hanson

Jerome "Butch" Raymond Hanson, 79, of Red Wing, passed away from a lengthy illness on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was born June 5, 1937, to Raymond "Happy" and Helen (Anway) Hanson. He attended school in Red Wing and then worked for the Red Wing Shoe Company for over 40 years. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Parrott on June 22, 1964. Butch was a simple man and took great joy in fishing. He could often be found around the local parks checking out the fishing scene--if he didn't already have his line in. He also enjoyed boating and was a dog and bird lover, especially humming birds. He was a member of the local Red Men Club.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Laura and Jenifer; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; one brother, Randy Hanson; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margo, Becky, Penny, Dar and brothers Pete and Doug.
Butch's family will be planning a gathering of friends and family at a later date.
