Jeremy P. Lipka, age 37, of Brooklyn, Michigan, formerly of Pine Island died on onday, April 29, 2013 in an airplane accident at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM, followed by a 12:30 prayer service, followed by a luncheon at the Charles Cowden American Legion Post #184 in Pine Island.
Jeremy Paul Lipka was born on October 17, 1975 in Madison, WI. He grew up in Pine Island, attended Pine Island Schools, where he was active in sports and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1994. Jeremy enrolled at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical School, where he earned his pilot's license. He has been flying airplanes for the past twelve years and has spent the last ten years flying for National Airline. Jeremy loved fishing, hunting, working on projects outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his daughter Madison and her sister Rory. Jeremy is survived by his mother, Deb (Dave Butman) Lipka of Pine Island; his daughter, Madison Hjelmeland of Winona; uncle, Terry Lipka and aunt, Denise Lipka.
