Jerald Hauschildt

Jerald “Jerry” Warren Hauschildt, 78, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Lake City Care Center. He was born April 9, 1946, in Robbinsdale, MN to Warren and Florence (Hanson) Hauschildt. He graduated from Golden Valley High School in 1964. He enlisted in the US Navy and served until he was honorably discharged. On November 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Hokanson at Minneola Lutheran Church. They lived in Cannon Falls until 1974 when they moved to Red Wing. Jerry worked many places throughout his life, primarily working as a welder and machinist and held many welding certificates and awards. He was greatly involved with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and fondly remembers his camping trips with them and was very proud of his Scouts and their accomplishments, both within Boy Scouts and in life. Jerry was very interested in history—especially of wars and the ones America fought in. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and Sunday car trips with his family visiting relatives. One of Jerry’s favorite songs was “Oh Lord, it’s hard to be humble” and if you were lucky, you got to hear Jerry himself sing it to you.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Hauschildt; 2 children, Jonathon (Roberta) Hauschildt and Timothy (Leah) Hauschildt; 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Rachel, Connor, Tyler and Hannah and great-granddaughter, Wrenly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judith; brother and his wife, Thomas and Pam Hoff; many puppies and one cat, Pete.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
